Muscles, Tendons, and Ligaments
- In most cases abnormal tension in the muscles, tendons, and ligaments occurs because of a problem in the deeper structures of the body.
- Most times, when the problems with the underlying structures are fixed, the involved soft tissues will automatically revert to their normal texture and function, without any treatment needing to be directed to them.
- We see this quite often with Matrix Repatterning treatment. The resolution of soft tissue problems far from the site of a Matrix Repatterning treatment, and the return to normal of fibrotic tissue without direct treatment, seem amazing at first, but they are aspects of treatment we have come to take for granted.
- Sometimes, when muscular, tendinous, or ligamentous tissue is excessively damaged by trauma, the involved tissue might need direct treatment in order to heal.
- We have many treatment modalities that are effective at healing this type of soft tissue lesion, such as the percussor, microcurrent stimulation, acupuncture, and low level laser therapy.
- Applied Kinesiology has hands-on techniques for myofascial release of injured soft tissue, and therapeutic exercise and stretching can help.
